The original builders found it in their infinite stupidity to build an inverted soffit at the end of the shower, slowly incubating the growth of mold that found harbor from the exhaust fan on the lower part of the ceiling. In this episode, I replace that poorly conceived design with a tray ceiling that not only prevents moisture accumulation but also opens up an existing small space.
